The couple: Juan Pablo Melo and Laura Vlieg. The blog: Couple Takes tells the narrative of Laura and Juan Pablo’s adventures together and apart as they work, live, and play in different parts of the world. The posts: many blog posts will address the same destination from both Juan Pablo and Laura’s perspectives, and will highlight the sights, smells, sounds, and flavors that stand out to each as they reflect on travel and life. The goal: to provide interesting accounts of cities throughout the world and give travel and culinary tips along the way.
More about Laura
Laura is a research librarian and assistant professor in the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. After practicing law for a short time, Laura realized she preferred the academic world, and decided to make the library her permanent office. She has lived in Grand Rapids, MI, Chicago, IL, Washington, DC, Williamsburg, VA, Tucson, AZ, and now resides in Las Vegas, NV. She loves making friends everywhere her life and travels take her, and laughs louder and longer than propriety usually allows. Her dearest dream is to drink wine on every continent (including Antarctica, where she’d prefer the wine to be mulled).
